Prepare your skin before application
A good base is the most important step. Use hydrating serums and creams to prepare your skin optimally. Only well-nourished skin ensures the camouflage adheres evenly and doesn't appear patchy.
Neutralise with colour correction
Before you begin with the actual camouflage, even out colour differences. Green conceals redness, yellow softens purple shadows, and orange neutralises bluish discolouration – for a harmonious result.
Choose the right shade
Test the shade in natural light and on the area you want to cover. Your perfect camouflage shade should blend into your skin tone, not sit on top of it.
Warm the product slightly
Camouflage pastes are highly pigmented and firm; they work better when warmed slightly – for example on the back of your hand. The texture becomes creamier and easier to apply.
Work in thin layers
Apply two thin layers rather than one thick one. The result looks more natural, more even and lasts longer.
Use the correct application technique
Spread the camouflage first with a brush and then blend it out with a damp makeup sponge. This creates a seamless, perfect finish.
Set the makeup with powder
To make your coverage last all day, set it with a translucent powder. After a few minutes, simply remove the excess with a soft brush.
Restore dimension to your face
Camouflage can make the complexion very even—sometimes too even. A touch of blush, bronzer or highlighter brings freshness back. Products with a subtle shimmer especially lend a healthy glow.
Don't forget the neck and ears
For a harmonious transition, blend the camouflage up to the hairline, over the ears and onto the neck. A small powder brush helps avoid harsh edges.
Cleanse the skin thoroughly at night
Camouflage is long-lasting – so it needs a thorough cleansing. A cleansing oil or a mild micellar solution effectively dissolves pigments and waxes without irritating the skin. Also remember to clean brushes and sponges regularly.
